Success and extraordinary commitment for the Amico Nonno association in Fiume Veneto, led by President Giuliana Buoni, who in 2024 continued to play a fundamental role in the community. With a total of 1,020 hours of service provided by approximately 30 active volunteers, the association has confirmed its irreplaceable role in ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens.
A constant commitment to children’s safety
Throughout the year, the volunteers of Amico Nonno dedicated a total of 770 hours to monitoring pedestrian crossings outside elementary schools in Fiume Veneto and Cimpello, an essential activity to ensure the safety of young children at school entrances and exits. This service has always been at the core of the association, whose main mission is to protect children and ensure a safe and peaceful school environment. The volunteers’ contribution, with their spirit of service, was therefore crucial for the well-being of the community.
Support for municipal initiatives and collaborations with other local organizations
In addition to school surveillance, the Amico Nonno volunteers provided 116 hours of service to support initiatives organized by the Municipal Administration. Their commitment was also valuable for other local organizations: a total of 134 hours were dedicated to events organized by other associations active in the municipality of Fiume Veneto. This spirit of solidarity and collaboration strengthened the social fabric of the village, demonstrating the importance of working together for the common good.
A toast to celebrate achievements and look to the future
The end-of-year toast organized by Amico Nonno was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the milestones achieved and to look optimistically towards future projects. Among the participants was Councilor Michele Cieol, who expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Municipal Administration:
“The work carried out by the volunteers of Amico Nonno is precious and irreplaceable. Our ‘Nonni Vigili’ are true guardian angels for the elementary school children, ensuring their safety with generosity and a spirit of service. On behalf of the Municipal Administration and all citizens, I want to express my sincere gratitude for their tireless commitment and example of active citizenship.”
The councilor also emphasized how significant the next year will be for the association: 2025 will mark the 30th anniversary of Amico Nonno’s foundation. An anniversary that celebrates three decades of dedication and love for the community, a journey of commitment that has seen hundreds of people serve others with their hearts and time. “It will be a special occasion to celebrate together,” the councilor concluded, “and reaffirm how essential their role is in our community.”
