DRAMA IN THE MOUNTAINS (PN) – Moments of fear yesterday evening, April 26, near the Rifugio Casera Ciàrpen/Chiarpin in Tramonti di Sopra, in the province of Pordenone, where a 34-year-old man was rescued after a serious fall that caused him a severe head injury.
The alarm signal was promptly raised by his hiking companions, using the emergency system integrated in their Apple devices. The call to Nue112 allowed the rescue operation to be quickly activated: around 8 pm, Sores requested the intervention of the Maniago station of the Alpine Rescue, the regional air rescue and an ambulance.
Helicoptered to Udine Hospital
The location of the incident, located in a difficult-to-reach mountainous area, required the arrival of the specialized air rescue team.
After being located near the alpine structure, the man was quickly loaded by the medical staff on board the aircraft, which proceeded to make an initial assessment of his condition on the night helipad.
Together with the ambulance paramedics, the air rescue team decided to proceed with the immediate transfer of the injured man to the hospital in Udine, for further examinations and necessary specialized care. The operation concluded successfully shortly after 9 pm.
